We are seeking a dedicated Academic Engagement Specialist .

This role will be located in Saskatchewan.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience with Indigenous communities within Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities Analyzing labour, and job market trends and developing programs and plans to best position Compugen with prospective and current Indigenous students Supporting Indigenous students in educational settings; in-depth understanding of local nations histories and protocols Indigenous community relationship building Background in education program delivery in an Indigenous post-secondary context.

Introduce the program to as many education institutions in Saskatchewan as possible to ensure we maximize the opportunity for learners in the province to benefit.

Researches Indigenous office and Indigenous student program offerings, best practices, surveys and canvases similar organizations for new, creative and collaborative implementation of programming Creates and sustain a working knowledge of urban and rural resources to support Indigenous student success Identifies, creates, assesses and builds community partnership opportunities to support student life development and enhance the community connectedness.

Researches and understands the unique needs of Indigenous students in all campuses and modalities of learning Coordinating Accelerate, Green4Good, and Connected North programs to all institutions in the province Qualifications Degree in Indigenous Studies or related field Minimum of three years’ experience working with Indigenous communities/organizations: Experience in educational settings Project and Event Management experience is considered an asset An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Knowledge Requirements: Demonstrated knowledge of and appreciation for the diversity of cultural traditions and spiritual practices of First Nation, Metis and Inuit peoples Challenges, opportunities and advances in Indigenous Education in Canada and internationally.

Local Indigenous communities’ history and social circumstances.

Understanding of appropriate protocol with Indigenous communities and organizations.

Program coordination administration.

Indigenous career development and work integrated learning Experience working in a post-secondary setting and/or with Indigenous communities/organizations is considered an asset for this position.
