Reporting to the Senior Buyer, the Purchasing Assistant will perform various administrative related to purchase and respond to different needs from engineering, production and service.

Follow up on orders with suppliers so that orders are delivered on time. Resolve issues with missing items, merchandise not received, damaged merchandise, etc.

Update the delivery dates in the system;
Place orders in the system and send them by email;
Make the request to the supplier to return any material not required and prepare the necessary documents;
Make changes to purchase orders;
Process the needs of parts and materials in collaboration with engineering;
Proceed with the Bill of materials (B.O.M.)
Order the minimum and maximum quantities from the store;
Respond to the needs of internal and external people if necessary;
Perform all other clerical tasks including classification and other tasks related to purchasing.


College diploma or equivalent;3 to 5 years of experience as a buyer;
Experience with purchasing mechanical and electrical parts is a strong asset;Experience in the manufacturing industry is a strong asset;Fluent in French and English (spoken & written);Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel & Outlook);Knowledge of a resource planning software;
Superior communication skills and professional attitude;
Ability to work in a fast paced environment to manage stress.
