Casual withdrawal management worker

This is a Full-time position in Williams Lake, BC posted January 14, 2020.

Job Posting Position:Casual Withdrawal Management Worker Location: Williams Lake, BC Wage:Hours:$23.22 per hourAs required for sick days, holidays, and emergencies Summary:Working in an 4 bed Withdrawl Management Residential Program where clients will attend for 3 – 5 days in a supportive and culturally sensitive environment.

Main duties include; monitoring withdrawal management symptoms, assessment, recovery planning, medication management, and meal prep-planning.

Qualifications Education/TrainingExperience Required:Ø A diploma in human services or a related field and/or experience working with adults with addicitons is preferred for this position.Ø At least 1 year of recent related work experience is considered an asset.

Direct program delivery experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated working knowledge of community based programs and related provincial and community support is preferred.Ø Knowledge of motivational interviewing and/or training is considered an asset.

Requirements:
· Current Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) Certification is required
· Approved Criminal Record & RCMP Check
· Good writing, data collection, and facilitation skills are required
· Computer literacy (including internet) is required.
· Safe driving record, Valid Drivers License, reliable transportation, and 2 million ICBC Insurance
· Pre-employment drug test
· Must be available for a minimum of 6 shifts per month, including weekends and statutory holidays Skills & Abilities: 1.

Good verbal and written reporting skills.2.

Demonstrated ability to teach and work effectively with others in a 1:1 setting.3.

Knowledge of theory, principles and practices working with addiction issues.4.

Good organization, time and house management skills.5.

Good interpersonal communication skills.6.

Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.7.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.8.

Demonstrated ability to be solution focused and approach problems with flexibility and creativity.

Additional Information: A moderate level of physical fitness is considered an asset since direct delivery of program activities may involve standing, walking, exercising with person served.

An openness and willingness to accept change and transition as part of one’s job is paramount.
