Role Summary

The Commercial Area Leader is responsible to support the commercial development team members and provide guidance in the areas of development and commercial viability.

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in costing and quoting within an automotive or related manufacturing environment, with familiarity in various customer specific quote templates
  • Business or related field Degree/Diploma or equivalent combination of education and applicable work related experience
  • Minimum 5 year’s Leadership experience
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the Commercial and business development functions
  • Leads a collaborative team in order to meet  the departmental and divisional goals and objectives
  • Supports the overall effectiveness of ECN process to improve profitability 
  • Develop and maintain a quote model and pricing strategy (CBA);Liaison to Cosma Group office for necessary approvals 
  • Set business plan deliverables and works to achieve results and targets to maximize profitability
  • Build new customer relationships
  • Responsible to identify new market trends and  opportunities and expand on existing products
  • Conducts regular communication meetings
  • Assists in developing program tooling budget and monitor expenditure
  • Assists Business/Engineering Management in business capital requests
  • Provides formal and informal performance feedback to team members 
  • Promotes and initiates continuous improvements and cost reduction opportunities 
  • Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Safety, Quality and Environmental programs (i.e IATF, ISO14001)
  • Understands, promotes and lives by Magna’s Philosophies and Employee Charter
  • Adheres to Modatek’s core values; integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty, 
  • Performs other duties as required
