Director, International Benefits (MSP or Toronto)

Job Description As the Director, International Benefits, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of all non-US and Canada benefit programs, ensuring our programs support TR’s strategic objectives and align with Reward architecture.

You will lead a team of several direct reports responsible for end-to-end administration of UK benefits while working closely with members of the Reward and People team, along with business leaders and employees, to design, optimize and implement programs across EMEA, APAC and LATAM.

About the Role Accountabilities: Strategic Operations Lead team on designing, implementing and managing competitive, innovative and cost-efficient programs Partner with Sourcing to lead contract negotiations for strategic vendor renewals, ensuring best terms and meaningful SLAs Manage the global broking arrangement and multinational pools, communicate and oversee the governance model Provide leadership on high-profile projects (i.e., redesign initiatives, key vendor implementations) Drive M&A due diligence and support the HR M&A team with contracting and implementation Ensure health and retirement programs support TR’s global wellbeing and diversity & inclusion strategies Communicate effectively across the organization and develop strategic relationships with business partners, senior leadership, and other corporate functions Financial Management Partner with the global broker to develop & socialize insurance renewals aligned to governance model Develop benefit program recommendations to effectively manage spend Partner with Sourcing to identify cost savings/avoidance opportunities Oversee UK fringe benefit budget and manage invoice approvals within applicable thresholds Communications & Engagement Oversee strong communication strategies for improved awareness and engagement Create an exceptional employee experience by providing innovative solutions, making it easy for employees to navigate their benefits and wellbeing programs Compliance & Governance Oversee compliance & governance of benefit plans, ensuring alignment with internal controls & audits Chairperson for the International retirement plan sub-committee Member/contributor on various local & global retirement committees Analytics, Data Management & Plan Research/Design Develop data-driven proposals and measure benefits efficiency through financial expenditures, competitive benchmarking, claims data, plan participation, market trends and demographic changes Continually benchmark programs to ensure competitiveness including providing regular reporting and updates on market trends, thought leadership and competitive data About You You’re a fit for the role of Director, International Benefits if you have: Experience with a wide variety of international benefit programs including retirement (DB and DC), health & welfare plans (preferably using a global broker model), ancillary benefits, wellbeing & HR policies Significant experience in a broad, benefits-focused role (including team leadership) Bachelor’s degree required Strong financial acumen, particularly with respect to pension plan funding and investment Strong quantitative skills, ability to use data analysis to proactively derive insights and support fact-based decision making Ability to build business cases and develop papers for committee & board presentations Ability to partner and influence across HR and with business leaders, build relationships, collaborate and influence outcomes Understand and embrace technology with experience delivering benefit programs and communications using digital platforms and capabilities Effective communication skills at all levels, and customer service driven Ability to apply rigorous statistical metrics and execute processes to analyze and measure the effectiveness of benefit programs and initiatives International Employee Benefit Association (IEBA) certification preferred Experience working in a large, global organization is preferred Do you want to be part of a team helping re-invent the way knowledge professionals work?
