Finance Specialist


This is a Contract position in Newmarket, ON posted June 7, 2021.

Aon is looking for a Business Operations Analyst As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Retirement group, preferably located in Toronto, ON.

Other locations accross Canada will also be considered.

Your impact as a Business Operations Analyst Job Responsibilities: Maintain a portfolio of client accounts as project manager and own the financial performance of those accounts including: Contract: own set up/renewal process, meet with client team to determine invoicing/project requirements Review revenue plan, billing plan, and all other contract attributes to ensure accuracy Backlog: notify consultants of upcoming contract expirations; monitor balances and identify opportunities to minimize balances Compile monthly billing packages including time and expense reports, a client budget control report, invoices, status of account receivables and client profitability Collect and maintain client contract/project documentation to ensure billing is compliant with agreed terms (timing, details, backup, etc.) Liaison with client account leads to generate invoices ensuring that all time and out of pocket expenses are billed in accordance with contract terms, including gathering necessary backup (receipts), securing approvals and distributing invoices Provide analysis of client surplus/deficit and make any required adjustments for month-end revenue reporting Prepare work in progress reports for management Develop and maintain databases and dashboards for the practice; ensuring accurate reporting Track execution of complex action items discussed during cross-functional meetings and working sessions Support and drive department business operations, financial processes and improvement/efficiency initiatives You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines Strong interpersonal skills Ability to articulate and communicate in a clear, fact-based manner, including relaying financial information to a non-financial audience Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams Ability to partner and collaborate with colleagues within various finance disciplines Strong attention to details is crucial for this role 2-4 years of experience in a professional services sector, including experience in project accounting and good understanding of revenue recognition principles Strong Microsoft Word and advanced Excel proficiency to develop and prepare reports and project analysis Familiarity with enterprise systems and tools (e.g.

Oracle CRM, Salesforce, Workday, Coupa, Tableau) Bilingual proficiency (in written and verbal French and English) is an asset.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent years of industry experience.
