Every member of our team brings relentless passion and quick learning to our culture of innovation.Hydron is a clean fuel company unlocking “net-zero” potential for the green energy markets.We are looking for a Manufacturing/Mechanical Technologist to assist with prototype design, development, assembly and manufacturing processes, as well as operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.

The position requires safety training, ability to lift up to 50 lbs on an irregular basis and hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.

Occasional travel for field work may be required.Experience with building, maintaining, or operating automated manufacturing equipment, especially in the print, coating, or paper converting industries will be advantageous.Key Responsibilities:Develop new manufacturing processes of a novel structured material, which acts as a parallel passage contactorSetup, modify, and commission manufacturing equipmentPerform manufacturing trialsEstablish QC testing and reporting processesIdentify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problemsPerform tests, gather data, and summarize resultsComply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements outlined in the Hydron HR PolicyDesign basic mechanical partsPrepare layouts for new machines, tool designs, plants, and equipmentMaintain test equipmentHandle gas supply and cylindersOperate PLC and Labview control and data acquisition systemsCalibrate instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature measurement and controlQualifications:Education: Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Technology or equivalent industry experienceExperience: 2 to 5 years’ hands-on mechanical work operating, assembling, or repairing manufacturing equipmentExperience with machine repairs in the field is preferredForklift experience and/or certification is preferredGood mechanical problem-solving skillsProficiency in Office software such as Word and ExcelGood oral and written English skillsCritical thinking skills and good mechanical judgmentAdaptable to dynamic work environmentDemonstrated interpersonal skills in establishing cooperative working relationships both internally and externallyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of initiativeExcellent time management, with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detailCan competently and safely work in a shop using standard shop tools and equipmentAs a team member you will work in a safety-first environment while enjoying competitive benefits, supportive co-workers, and interesting challenges to solve.
