This position is not confined to shop activities as the Mechanic may be required to perform field work on down buses.

Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses Diagnose equipment problems CVIP Inspections Respond to breakdowns Spring and winter maintenance Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines Maintain a clean and orderly work environment Requirements Journeyman Mechanic ticket Own hand tools Fluent in written and spoken English 2
– 5 years related experience Valid Driver’s Licence (Class 2 or 3 considered an asset) CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset Exposure to working on diesel engines Analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors) Computer proficiency Remuneration Commensurate with experience Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday) Employee Benefits Plan (after 3 month probation) Group Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Plan (available after 12 months) Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date
