Journeyman Millwright

This is a Contract position in Richmond, BC posted October 25, 2021.

Job Description Reporting to the Foreman, the Journeyman Millwright, Maintenance will be responsible for all general millwright duties required on industrial scope construction projects.

They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.

This position is located North-East of Edmonton, AB on a client site.

Working Conditions Maintenance position Shift schedule
– Monday through Thursday 9 hours/day, 8 hours on Friday with every second Friday off Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions Working in and around noise and dust Must be clean shaven Working in confined spaces Travel not provided Camp not provided LOA not provided Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g.

steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

Candidates may be required to have proof of full vaccination or consent to rapid testing prior to onboarding as an employee.

Responsibilities Read diagrams and schematic drawings, blue-prints, and service manuals to determine work procedures.

Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.

Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.

Align and test equipment and make any necessary adjustments.

Perform predictive and operational procedures.

Repair and/or replace defective parts.

Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Maintain an inventory of replacement parts.

Prepare layout including material selection, sequence planning and methods of work.

Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.

Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.

Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.

Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.

Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.

Qualifications Journeyman Millwright ticket Maintenance experience an asset H2S Alive CSTS-20 Confined Space Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience Ability to work collaboratively Superior written and verbal communication skills Superior focus on customer satisfaction Valid driver’s license Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing Mask-fit testing may be required Physical Requirements Stand or walk for long periods of time Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 25kg Climbing stairs/ladders regularly Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools Compensation and Benefits Compensation is commensurate with experience, quality and production capabilities and is above industry average Benefits include Health & Dental and Vacation Pay About Us Safety, sustainability, collaboration, and integrity are core company values that encourage innovation and make a lasting difference in meeting the goals of our stakeholders and the communities in which we operate.
