Journeyman Pipefitter – Turnaround

Tartan Industrial Contractors Ltd

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted June 4, 2021.

Reporting to the Foreman, the Journeyman Pipefitter, Turnaround will be responsible for all general pipefitting duties required on industrial scope construction projects.

They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.This position is based in Fort Saskatchewan, AB area on a client site.

Working Conditions Turnaround shift schedule 10 hours per day for 12 days on 2 days offPre-turnaround shift schedule 10 hours per day for 4 days on 3 days offPre-turnaround work to begin in JulyTurnaround scheduled for August 3-25 Overtime as required Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditionsWorking in and around noise and dustNo LOA and no travel allowanceCSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required Responsibilities Measure, cut, bend and fit various types of piping systems.Maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, treatment, cooling, lubricating and other processes.Maintain and repair pressurized piping systems, valves and components.

Hydro test, leak test, and air test piping systems to prove integrity.Install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.Thread, bolt up and torque various piping connections.Accurately perform dimensioning and layout.Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.Report all incidents, near miss incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.Other tasks and labor duties as required on the jobsite.
