Lead Manufacturing Specialist 1 – Production Quality

General Electric Group

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted September 30, 2022.

Job Description Summary Product quality review associated with the manufacturing process.

Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.

Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control.

Includes quality assurance of products, services, manufacturing processes.

Includes conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.

Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.

Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.

Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.

Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Ensure CMM programming incorporates best practices and application of GD&T, and work with Engineering to rectify drawing ambiguity as it pertains to measurement techniques Zeiss Calypso and Vision System programming capability Good understanding of drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T per ASME Y14.5) ID and implement new world class measuring technologies Build and sustain system of periodic Gage R&Rs for measurement system across the Newark operation Provide QA direction to engineers, operators, and inspectors Inspection method development and implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor new or existing inspection methods to ensure products meet stated engineering requirements Ability to successfully communicate inspection results to manufacturing personnel Required Qualifications For roles in USA
– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
