Over the next 30 years our shipbuilders will construct 20 modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, the largest defence procurement in Canadian history.

This year we delivered the second lead Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship, the largest Navy ship built in Canada in 50 years and we’re just getting started.

The third ship will be delivered in 2022.

is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.

ISI/CSC has several opportunities in the following areas of Manufacturing Engineering for Manufacturing Engineers or Specialists.

Build Strategy Build Readiness The main scope of work these departments will cover will include.

Development the CSC Build Strategy and the shipyards capital investment requirements to achieve the desired build schedule (i.e., Capacity and capability analysis) Supporting the design reviews for producibility through the ISI design rules Assessing & improving the build readiness / producibility for CSC (i.e., Gap Analysis) Operate as the ISI/CSC production liaison in the UK to better communicate through the already set-up Producibility Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) working collaboratively and closer to the product to better understand the challenges of building a complex frigate and to capture lessons learned.

Support the CSC Make vs Buy strategy and business case analysis Creation and review of ISI design rules and interim products / product families.

Assessment of the CSC Engineering policy documents / standards Development of the CSC Manufacturing Instructions & Processes build documentation for Manufacture and construction CSC Production readiness reviews (PRRs) as the Build Authority Qualifications: Academically qualified as an Engineer with a recognized university bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar Registered P.Eng designation required, or ability to attain one through Engineers Nova Scotia 5 Years or more experience in a complex system manufacturing environments; shipbuilding experience would be an asset Experience with manufacturing process assessment and development Experience creating production or process documentation (Manufacturing Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and similar) Experience using Product Life Cycle Management, NC, Planning, MRP, or other Manufacturing software and systems Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
