Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

This is a Contract position in Vancouver, BC posted November 24, 2022.

Eaton is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team.

This position is based at our Milton Location.

Position Overview: Responsible foroptimization of the manufacturing processes at the Milton plant through use of both technical knowledge and Eaton’s lean manufacturing techniques in order to ensure achievement ofannual manufacturing goals, while minimizingmanufacturing costs.

Work on complex projects in the development of methods and processes.

Support continuous improvement efforts through the creation & maintenance of Process Maps, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Control Plans, and Workstation Safety Risk Assessments (WSRA) for assigned product line(s).

Investigate, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and methods of production.

Recommend capital purchases.

Deliver aggressive annual cost-savings, while enhancing safety & product quality through creation, optimization and standardization of components, processes and modules/sub-assemblies.

Determine best utilization of equipment, facilities, material flow and personnel.

Instruct and train manufacturing personnel on new or revised manufacturing methods & equipment, and aid in resolution of daily production technical challenges.

Write, review and revise operation sheets, prepare or direct preparation of time/motion studies.

Evaluate and initiate orders for new machinery and equipment required for production process.

Confer with engineering personnel on design changes, tooling and new product development programs.

Support other processes of the facility such as Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), incorporating business process improvements (BPI).

Other duties as required.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications (required) University degree or college diploma in engineering.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process improvement.

Experience with CAD softwares (Inventor orAutoCAD) Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

No relocation provided.

Preferred Qualifications: University degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Training and Experience with Lean and Six Sigma Tools; Six Sigma Green or Black belt.

Project management experience.

Experience with ERP softwares like Oracle or SAP.

Experience with PFMEA / WSRA,Quality and Safety, Ergonomics, Capital Projects.

Experience with Continuous improvement.

Hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Data Analytics (MS Access, Power BI, VBA).

Professional Engineer Certification (P.Eng.).

Position Criteria: Demonstrated proficiency with PC and related software, including MS Office Suite.

Strong technical acumen, paired with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to inspire a shared vision.

Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team Proven ability to lead projects/teams and consistently achieve results through self & others.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong analytical skills & methodical, objective, approach to problem solving.
