Method Specialist (ME)

BRP

This is a Contract position in Valcourt, QC posted May 14, 2023.

YOUR KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Be a stakeholder in the development of critical tools, influence on product development and follow-up in order to a reference in manufacturing tooling developpement.
  • Project management with teams: Identify, plan, design, design reviews, buy, modify and validate tooling and / or equipment in order to meet the prototyping deadlines (P1 and P3) of the production center (Pilot Hall);
  • Supported the ”Design Review” of tools and equipment with the team in differents sites  in order to secure the need, standardization and possible implementation of the latter.
  • In charge of the “Design Review” of tools and equipment with the engineering team (R&D) of Valcourt in order to either eliminate the need, ensure the obtaining of a “Poka Yoke by design » or to avoid technological support needs.
  • Promote the DFA ”Design for assembly” vision to engineering in order to achieve organizational goals.
  • Coordinate effective communication between the various stakeholders and stakeholders of the groups concerned: Manufacturer, Valcourt Pilot Hall and engineering;
  • Carried out the design of tools and assembly equipment using a CAD tool (Catia) simultaneously with the development of the ”Early stages” product;
  • Get involved in continuous improvement;
  • Participate in PFMEA, SFMEA, Make or buy strategy study

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or technical degree/diploma in mechanical engineering.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in tooling design or mechanical assembly.
  • Knowledge of Catia, 3DVia and SAP software.
  • Very comfortable communicating and negotiating with various tooling suppliers and product development teams.
  • Capable of drafting technical specifications.
  • Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written — advanced level.
  • Stimulated by the idea of taking on new challenges and constantly being in solution mode.
