GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations, work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications
  • Duties and responsibilities include, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources.
  • Responsible for overseeing Supervisors, Cell Leaders, Process Technicians and Associates to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
  • Communicate with Teams to understand all safety, quality and operational issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels and staffing to ensure that the production schedules can be met.
  • Give direction and support to the Production Supervisors and Cell Leaders as required.
  • Ensure all operators are trained effectively on safety, manufacturing process and quality checking aspects of their job
  • Ensure company policies are adhered to by all Production Supervisors, Cell Leaders, and Process Technicians
  • Support Quality reviews at the Customer locations as necessary
  • Conduct performance reviews as required.
  • Work with Production Supervisors to coordinate activities of the floor staff in accordance with daily production schedules and initiate changes to the production schedules as necessary.
  • Work with appropriate teams to root cause problems that arise effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with JHSC to conduct audits, identify safety issues and ensure legislative compliance.
  • Make sure all necessary communication is passed on to the Production Supervisor coming on duty
  • Understand the current status of all processes and equipment throughout the facility and involve the proper disciplines in problem resolution.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement throughout the organization.(TPS)
  • Drive Corrective Actions with Production Supervisors and Cell Leaders
  • Ensure that all equipment and process capacity’s are being maximized to achieve peak efficiencies.
  • Conduct meetings and set priorities based on the needs of the business. Make decisions regarding the operation; based on customer’s needs, needs of the business and the needs of the employees.
  • Ongoing understanding of KPI results such as scrap rates, downtime and efficiencies, audit results and findings from both internal and external audits (Quality, Environmental & Safety)
  • Drive scrap and labour efficiency metrics to meet business plan goals.
  • Comply with and ensure all employees adhere to the Employee Handbook and applicable Standards (IATF/ISO/OHSA, etc).
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education required
  • Completion of Diploma/Degree with specific discipline in Manufacturing Operations is an asset
  • 3-5 years’ supervisory/ managerial experience required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between the plants required

  • ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.;
  • ability to work in high noise areas;
  • ability to work in areas that may have slippery conditions;
  • ability to work flexible work hours and overtime.

 

 

This position will require a certain amount of training both in-house and off-site. The person who accepts the position will be expected to follow a learning curve with continuous development.
