Millwrights/ Field Service Technician

David Brown Santasalo Canada Inc. is looking for a MILLWRIGHTS/ FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN (NOC 72400) for our Cambridge location: 1615 Bishop Street North, Cambridge, Ontario, N1R 7J4.

This is a full time, permanent position.

Our Canadian Service Center located in Cambridge, Ontario is equipped to deliver expert gearbox service, repair, refurbishment and replacement across Canada. Out team of experts are fully trained to perform repairs, failure analysis, upgrades and reverse engineering.

We can provide emergency gearbox services and replacement units for any brand, including a variety of onsite services including inspection, repair and installation.

What will be your role:

Provide an on-site presence to engage customers, install, align, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul and repairs, of major components such as gears, pumps, mortor or hydrolics assemblies.

What will be your responsibilities:

• Perform offsite inspections, analysis, alignmen and repairs.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Inspect machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Fitting and adjusting in order to meet tight operating requirements
• Installation of major component such as girth gear, gearboxes for mining, pulp and paper and other industries.
• Work on precision assemblies and sub-assembly.
• Cleaning, assembling and lubrication of gear units and parts.
• Coordinate stock (bolts, seals, shims…)
• Bring forward quality issues to management.
• Redaction of detailed reports
• Generate quotations
• Maintain and complete inspection reports.
• Follow health and safety guilines.

The knowledge and skills you must have:

• 5- years experience in industrial machinery repair or machine fitter
• Certificate in Industrial Mechanic Millwright and/or Mechanical Fitter
• Valid Driver’s licence
• Vibration analyst certification, level 2 or more, as per ISO
• Basic survival training (BST)
• Offshore Training
• Equipement experience with overhead crane
• Ability to read drawings and blue prints
• Customer service experience with excellent communication skills in English.
• Strong knowledge of precision fitting/assembly repair work
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Good manual dexterity, resourcefulness and good ability to concentrate
• Record time spent on each job
• Record/maintain quality form per ISO procedure in place
