Production Operator – Sanitation

Overview

The Production Operator – Sanitation is responsible for sanitizing/cleaning activities of areas considered category 1 or 2 where no production occurs (e.g., SAS, corridors, supervisor office, soiled equipment room, etc.,) and drains sanitation in required area. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing all duties in compliance with Health Canada, FDA, OSHA, state and local regulations, and company policies, including safety guidelines, the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Main Responsibilities

• Complete at required frequency Sanitation/ Cleaning task list that includes, but is not limited to:
  • Performing routine sanitizing/ cleaning of areas considered category 1 or 2 where no production occurs (refer to FRM-0056) and drains sanitation (refer to FRM-0266).
  • Document the cleaning in the dedicated logbooks.
  • Dispose garbage in appropriate receptacles
• Safely working with a variety of chemicals
• Notifying management of equipment that is not working properly
• Ensure operational standards are met and create an action plan created if required
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or other lead operator
• Back-up for this role is the Production Operators (Formulation, Encapsulation, Finishing, Sanitation) or management personnel with the proper training completed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• No minimum education requirement; High School diploma or GED or equivalent preferred
• 6 months previous sanitation experience in a GMP, nutraceutical, pharma, food production environment or equivalent preferred
• Have the ability to comprehend basic verbal instructions and read product labels and safety warnings
• Perform work according to SOP
• Have good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Be reliable and dependable; available to work night shift Monday through Friday and occasionally Saturday or Sunday as directed by management
• Have high level of job motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Reach, stoop, and bend at waist repetitively throughout entire shift
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds of equipment
• Push/pull wheeled cart weighing 80 to 100 pounds
• Empty wheeled cart that is full, weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to walk and/or stand for entire shift
• Bilingual (English and French)
