Project Coordinator

Johnson Controls

This is a Full-time position in High River, AB posted July 16, 2021.

What you will do Under direct supervision, tracks and provides direct support for the Controls Major Projects/Connected Technologies Installation Contract Business.

Will work with the Controls Project Manager, Site Superintendent, Systems Designers and Technicians to perform routine technical and administrative tasks that support the systems design/construction activities of a Major Projects/Connected Technologies Team.

How you will do it Responsible for preparing and maintaining commissioning-deficiency documentation in support of project team.

May assist with the preparation of valve, damper and room schedules as required under the direction of the Controls Project Manager, Systems Designer and Systems Design Specialist.

Tracks status and logs Project Submittals for consultant approval, ensuring that all required information for the submittal is included and identifies compliance issue to the appropriate parties.

Takes meeting minutes and distributes to the appropriate parties, as required.

Ensures that all material is ordered for assigned projects, coordinates and tracks delivery status for the Controls Project Manager and Site Superintendent.

Handles excess material at project closeout by sending it back to the factory or transferring it to another project under the direction of the Controls Project Manager and Site Superintendent.

May assist with preparation and layout of installation drawings using the standards library.

Gathers Site Instructions, Variation Requests, Change Directives and Field Changes and forwards to the Controls Project Manager, Systems Designer and Systems Design Specialists.

Assist the Project Manager in the preparation and maintenance of Project SOVs, Weekly Customer Communication Letters, Change Order Logs, Risks/Issues Logs, Project Construction Schedules, Cost & Resource Loaded Schedules and WBS-based SOVs for subcontracts.

May assist with revises engineered drawings by compiling Site Instructions, Variation Requests, Change Directives and Field Changes into one set of as-built drawings.

Provide additional Operations Support, as required.

What we look for REQUIRED Applied Technologies Diploma preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required, plus one to two years of related work experience, preferably within a service / sales, or technical work environment.

Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external clients.

Must have the ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects, tasks and issues with tact, cooperation, and persistence.

Ability to prioritize work activities based upon financial impact to desired business goals.

Experience and/or basic project accounting or costing principals is desired.

Must have proficient computer skills within the following applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, ACCESS, Desktop Publishing and Internet business application usage.

Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently and demonstrate solid organizational and attention to detail skills.

DESIRED Previous experience with computer aided design or graphics design preferred.
