Project Manufacturing Engineer

Description: Job Title: Project Manufacturing Engineer Pay Rate: $40-55/hour, direct with full benefits Location: Huntsville, AL 35649 Area Code: 256 Shift: Monday
– Friday, 7:00 AM
– 4:00 PM Overview: As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing of various launch vehicle subassemblies.

As a Project Engineer, you will confirm engineering intent, drawings, and configurations of inventory items for acceptance for use.

When non-conforming materials are found, you will translate proper engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into consistent rework or repair processes which focus on returning the non-conforming items into accepted for use conditions and eventual return to stock.

The role is multifunctional with knowledge needed in the production of hardware, assembly and sub-assembly integration, inspection, process documentation, machining, fabrication, cleaning, welding, NDT, assembly and other various aerospace design and manufacturing processes which could be part of the recovery process you define.

Core Responsibilities: Meet daily as required with analyst team, project managers, and project engineers to set directions for work in the inventory area.

Conduct part by part inspection of suspect inventory items to evaluate adherence to standards of preservation and packaging.

Monitor data collection and integrity, and the proper return to stock of items deemed accepted for use.

Remove and isolate any non-conforming materials to a defined quarantine area for evaluation and remedial action.

Proper inventory transactions may apply for relocation to be tracked.

Develop containment and remedial actions in the form of recovery or disposition instructions for these non-conforming materials.

Author and seek required approval for rework disposition instructions while collaborating with design and quality functions to generate your part by part recovery plans.

Analyze quality data and non-conforming materials for patterns of defects and feed process data to drive root cause and correction efforts for meaningful and lasting improvements into the responsible engineering teams associated with the hardware.

Watch for opportunities to streamline the work being done to make things better, faster, cheaper and work within the team to drive improvements.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or Automotive Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university Five or more years of project engineering experience working in a complex production and manufacturing environment Mastery of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T, blue print interrogation and spec interpretation Aerospace industry experience strongly desired but not required Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills such as MRP, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Must be a U.S.

citizen due to the nature of the work Desired Skills: Experience in hardware manufacturing (i.e.

castings, forgings, stampings, additively manufactured components, welding, joining, machining, cleaning, non-destructive testing methods, tight tolerance assembly, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware Experience with dispositioning non-conforming materials, developing repair and rework instructions and analyzing chronic quality data to create root cause and correction action reports as required.
