This position is accountable to lead a team of employees to define, effectively implement, and ensure adherence to company quality systems and critical quality protocols, build relationships with company-wide customers and comply with their quality requirements, and to continually improve the manufacturing process to achieve world-class quality and flawless launches.
Leads quality team to achieve established goals and objectives
Develops, recommends and implements growth and educational programs for department personnel
Maintains open channel of communication/support with all internal departments
Ensures company policies and procedures are followed
Ensures all employees are treated fairly and consistently and that compensation and discipline is according to Dortec policy and procedures
Plans and monitors new program development and ensures flawless launches
Develops succession plan and employee backups
Scheduling, implementation and the monitoring of all departmental activities to ensure timely completion of projects
Prepare, review and communicate performance appraisals. Confidentiality of all personal data is strictly maintained
Collects and correlates relevant data that pertains to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Assessing trends through generated graphs and charts. Maintains continuous improvement project tracking and report out status monthly.
Displays a positive approach to the continuous improvement of the department and keeps current with new products, processes, materials and equipment technologies
Establish goals and objectives for the department
Maintains an organizational structure to meet company long term goals and procedures and to develops policies and procedures to control operations of the department
Responsible for annual department budget preparation and monitoring to ensure budgets are achieved and challenged
Determine strategic directions for the company information needs and implement
Conducts Layered Process Audits and ensures corrective actions are implemented
Management and Customer service representative for IATF / ISO14001 and CNCA-C11-10-2014 CCC Regulation
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Follows and implements the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Sec. 25 -duties of the employer, Sec. 26 -additional duties of the employer, Sec 27- duties of a supervisor, Sec. 28 – duties of a worker
Demonstrates leadership and committment with respect to the EHS management system by following guidelines under ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 section 5.1
Follow WI 0644 Internal external communications plan for role specific authorities and responsibilities under the management system
Seeks out and corrects unsafe acts and hazardous conditions, ensuring all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
Ensures adherence to established quality, safety and housekeeping standards.
Reviews and adheres to all health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, policies and procedures.
Responds immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects, incidents or non-compliance issues.
Communicate responsibilities and authorities relevant to the EHS management system to workers
Understands and upholds the principals of Bill 168 which prohibit domestic violence, workplace violence, and workplace harassment
Attends Environmental, Health and Safety training and promote continual improvement
Completion of community college diploma/certificate.
5 to less than 7 years of work related experience.
Minimum completion of post secondary education program in mechanical/quality engineering and minimum of 5 years related experience in the quality field
Position Specific Skills
A.S.Q.C certification as a quality engineer preferred
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred
Six Sigma/RedX/Lean training preferred
