Our client has a long history of success in the Alberta and International Marketplace.

As they align for the future, there is an opportunity to add a Senior Purchaser to their Supply Chain group.

Based in their South Edmonton manufacturing facility, this individual will play a key role in negotiating contracts and purchasing products for the Manufacturing, Service and Sales departments.

If you are an experienced purchaser with skills in steel purchasing and price negotiations and are looking to for an opportunity to make a difference for your employer, this could be a fantastic opportunity for you Your Challenge As the chosen Senior Purchaser, you will have the immediate opportunity to play a key role in some exciting initiatives.

In collaboration with the engineering department and Supply Chain Manager, you will act as liaison between the company and its vendors.

Accountabilities will include: Purchase materials including steel, rubber and carbide products Obtaining quotes, negotiate pricing & delivery dates to meet sales and manufacturing delivery dates.

Monitoring and reviewing MRP System and make purchases accordingly Working with the Engineering Department regarding drawings and material specifications Acting as liaison between Company and its Vendors, keeping track of delivery dates, quantities, Delivery KPI’s and purchase price history.

Negotiating pricing schedule with all Vendors in relation to quantity purchasing Providing vendors with forecast buying Informing the Service and Manufacturing Departments of any late delivery dates.

Building on and reefing a list of existing preferred vendors Your Background The successful candidate for Senior Purchaser role will have healthy mix of drive, technical knowledge, procurement experience and organizational skills.

Qualified individuals should possess sophisticated knowledge in factors effecting commodity process, and in recognizing opportunities for pricing reductions.

Ideally someone should have a minimum of five years’ experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

Preference will be given to individuals with SCMP accreditation and those with Oilfield specific experience.

Desired skills and attributes include: proficiency with business systems such as MS Office and advanced ERP Experience (AIMS or EPICOR would be a plus), and ability to read and understand technical drawings & BOMs.

Creativity, Organization, sense of urgency, and time management skills will all be paramount for success in this role; as will strong documentation, coordination and analytical skills.

Experience working in an ISO environment would also be considered an asset.
