– Alternatives to Violence Program Employment Type: Temporary Employment Term: Full Time Posting Date: July 15, 2021 Closing Date: July 22, 2021 21:30 Hours of Work: Shift Information: Days, Evenings In a 3 week rotation: 14 shifts of 8.00 hours Rate of Pay: $33.810 to $41.342 (5 step range) Union Name: HSAS Job Description This position is within the response to violence program that provides services to individuals to enable them to stop their violence toward their intimate partner, as well as within the sex offender treatment program.

The incumbent will co-facilitate groups, maintain appropriate partner contact, and provide short-term crisis counselling, referral and advocacy as required.

The incumbent will be responsible for data entry related to utilization and outcome evaluation and assist with the day-to-day administration of the program.

This position is located at Saskatoon City Hospital.

Job Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Social Work Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW) Experience Directly related experience working with individuals who are violent, preferably in a mental health or family services setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced communication skills Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Advanced interpersonal skills Advanced organizational skills Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position Ability to travel both within the region and provincially Advanced counseling skills Knowledge of the health region and community resources Other Information Field Hours Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.

HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.

Additional Information A solid theoretical understanding of family violence issues, including sexual offending, domestic violence, and relapse prevention.

High degree of comfort in dealing with co-occurring disorders, suicidal ideation, violence and abuse, and histories of trauma.

Knowledge of various mental disorders, their etiology, and optimal plans for treatment and intervention, including cognitive and brief psychotherapy.
