– 43.80 Union Name: HSAS Job Description Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Senior Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population.

The incumbent provides formal supervision (clinical/professional and/or administrative) to other employees and students in formal clinical practicum.

As a senior practitioner, acts as a resource for other professionals and the community at large for mental health and addiction.

Job Qualifications Required Qualifications Recognized Bachelor Degree in Social Work.

Must have a current practicing registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of a variety of mental health disorders and addiction and harm reduction strategies required to enable clients to sustain stability.

Broad knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agencies is essential.

Experience working with mental health and addiction community outreach and competence in delivering mental health and addiction crisis interventions.

Knowledge of a variety of intervention strategies (individual and group) for individuals with mental health and addiction problems in a community based setting, including, but not limited to: assessment, triage, treatment, case management.

Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentation and formulate evidence based intervention.

Cultural competency skills.

Knowledge of Recovery philosophy.

Ability to work independently and in a self motivated manner, ability to respond under pressure.

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.

Leadership skills, workload management, staff development and skills related to resource coordination.

Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act.

Excellent consultation and public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships.

Excellent interpersonal competence including effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.

Ability to provide public presentation and professional training.

Ability to enter and retrieve data in a computer database system.

Other Information Must have a valid driver’s license.

Some assignments may require access to a vehicle for work.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to work flexible hours; including an ability to work day, evening and weekend shifts based on operational needs.
