Social Worker, Eating Disorders Program

Position Summary As a Social Worker, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

If you are looking for a company that is constantly moving forward in pursuit of successful outcomes, get ready to love it here The Eating Disorders Program provides inpatient treatment for individuals struggling with an eating disorder.

At intake to the program clients, receive a thorough assessment, followed by both individual and group based supports to enhance motivation for change.

They then receive group and individual based treatments in order to improve their coping skills (e.g.

mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness), and address body image related thoughts and core beliefs.

Towards the end of their treatment, clients receive support in reintegrating into the community and building a life worth living.

The program integrates Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Enhancement approaches with nutritional and medical management.

Clients served by the Eating Disorders Program at Homewood represent a diverse population of individuals, with a variety of comorbid mental health conditions, particularly difficulties with mood, anxiety, and emotion regulation, as well as a variety of interpersonal stressors, including histories of trauma and addiction.

Hours: 35 per week, with one Saturday per month and some evenings What you’ll be doing
• Provide DBT and/or CBT group therapy
• Facilitate motivational enhancement in both individual and group sessions
• Provide individual therapy to address comorbid conditions and interpersonal stressors
• Facilitate weekly weight exposures with individual clients, in adherence with a CBT-E protocol
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports
• Contribute to program rounds and the DBT consult group
• Contribute to program development and program evaluation What we’re looking for
• MSW and are registered through the College of Social Work of Ontario
• Training and education in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
• Experience working with individuals with an Eating Disorder is preferred
• Training and experience working with a range of complex/comorbid mental health conditions, and are able to provide evidence based approaches to treat them
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective computer skills
• Strong report writing skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Demonstrated skills and experience in assessment, treatment and research preferred
