What is the opportunity?

As the Sr.

Manager for the Telecom Network Services (TNS) – Network Operations Centre (NOC) you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for all of RBC Telecom NOC on a 24/7/365 days a year.

We are RBC’s main production infrastructure support team for Canadian, USA and International based businesses and functional units including Personal and Commercial Banking (P&CB), Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS), Insurance, Capital Markets (CM), Wealth Management (WM), Technology and Operations (T&O), and Functions.

We are the main Telecommunications support team f or the Enterprise.

This role has direct accountability for event/incident/problem management, escalation, restoration of service, triage, and maintain all services pertaining to RBC’s operations environment.

Special Conditions: This position requires 7/24 rotating shift work What will you do?

Network Operations – performs support of the network environment Lead a team of Network Analysts to maintain operational excellence Proactively interacting with the TNS Operations leadership team Identify opportunities to enhance integration Incident Management, events management and escalation Management Drive synergies across initiatives to ensure full optimization Set strategic direction for support activities that will provide a robust and reliable infrastructure for all lines of technologies aligned to the enterprise and industry model that will deepen our specialization and increase our ability to perform first call resolution What do you need to succeed?

Must-have: Technical skills within the Cisco suite of products include routers and switches (Layer2 / Layer3): CCNA Technical skills with IP/SIP Telephony, Wireless, and Security space: Firewalls, Load balancing, VPN, DNS/DHCP In-depth knowledge of OSI model; routing concepts relating to OSPF, BGP; WAN topologies: ATM, TLS, and MPLS; Spanning Tree; HSRP/VRRP; Private Vlans with respect to L2/L3 switches 3-5 Years Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting in a production support environment.
