Job Introduction Our Tool & Die Technical Team Members utilize their unique skillset to ensure that our equipment and processes are maintained to the highest standards.

They respond to line calls, troubleshoot equipment failures, perform preventative maintenance work, and develop continuous improvement projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool & Die maker or apprentice who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys continuous learning with a group of cross-functional tradespeople.

Hourly range $35.09 $37.50/hour, commensurate with experience.

Shift premiums $0.90 for afternoons and $1.15 for midnights.

Overtime time and one-half after 40 hours and double time on Sundays.

Major Responsibilities Read and interpret drawings and schematics Safely and skillfully operate all machine shop equipment including (mills, lathes grinders, drill presses, etc.) Develop controls drawings and design concepts Design, build, prove out projects for tooling, fixtures and clamping Understand and apply knowledge of various welding processes (GMAW, SMAW and GTAW) Perform preventative maintenance as per defined schedules Establish and follow-up on project implementation Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to the job function Troubleshoot equipment failures and follow-up on feasibility of modifications, while providing support in making system improvements and reducing department inefficiencies Analyze, record, chart and maintain all documentation for maintenance records, projects and departments, including generating work orders and updates to SAP Prepare drawings and materials specifications for requisitions required by vendors or other departments Deal with various vendors (Supplier and Equipment) Assist and support in all other technical areas, where required Ensure all operator safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations Maintain a clean and environmentally safe workshop and production lines Knowledge and Education Ontario Certificate of Qualification in the required field Tool and Die Basic knowledge of GD&T (geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing) Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics Experience with Robotics; knowledge in programming and troubleshooting of Fanuc and Kuka robots is an asset Skill in all machine shop equipment including (mills, lathes grinders, drill presses, etc.) Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics (basic ability to repair and replace cylinders Demonstrated knowledge of welding (GMAW, SMAW and GTAW) A strong command of the English language, both oral and written, as well as knowledge of technical mathematics.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment Ability to work rotating shifts Ability to work to deadlines and support multiple demands Ability to work in locations inside and outside of the Modatek facility Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements Work Environment Our people are our greatest asset.
