Role Summary
The Tool and Die Maker is primarily responsible to service, maintain and test new or existing tooling. This position will support production through trouble shooting problems during production and complete quality improvements as required to maintain part standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments.
- Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
- Safely operates equipment and tools and performs all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.
- Verifies conformance of machined or repaired tooling to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments
- Modifies dies to conform to engineering changes, tryouts of new dies, etc.
- Coordinate activities of apprentices, helpers and assigned contractors.
- Perform all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Karmax Environmental Policy Statement-3 P’s. Prevent Pollution, Preserve Natural Resources & Protect our Environment
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Grade 12 Education or GED
- Certificate of Qualification Tool & Die Maker 430
