Division Description Located in Milton, Ontario, Modatek Systems is a divsion of Magna International.

At Modatek, our dedicated team produce chassis systems utilizing innovative hydroforming, automated welding, and electrostatic coating processes within a large, safety-focused facility.

Role Summary Our Tool & Die Technical Team Member utilize their unique skillset that our equipment and processes are maintained.

They respond to line calls, troubleshoot equipment failures, perform preventative maintenance work, and develop continuous improvement projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool & Die maker who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys continuous learning with a group of cross-functional tradespeople.Hourly range: $35.97 $38.44/hour +shift premiums, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Safely and skillfully operate all machine shop equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, etc.,)
• Design, build, prove out projects for tooling, fixtures and clamping
• Understand and apply knowledge of various welding processes (GMAW, SMAW, GTAW)
• Perform preventative maintenance as per defined schedules
• Establish and follow-up on project implementation
• Know and understand process docuemntation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to the job function
• Troubleshoto equipment failures and follow-up on feasibility of modifications, while providing support in making system improvements and reducing department inefficiencies
• Analyze, record, chart and maintain all documentation for maintenance records, projects and departments
• Assist and support in all other technical areas as required
• Maintain a clean and environtmentally safe workshop and production lines Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Tool and Die)
• Basic knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Skilled in all machine shop equipment
• Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics (basic ability to repair and replace cylinders)
• Demonstrated knowledge of welding (GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW)
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements Additional Information Our people are our greatest asset.
