Toolmaker Machine Builder

This is a Contract position in City Of Cambridge, ON posted July 7, 2019.

Are you a licensed tradesman/woman with experience in Machine Building?

We are looking for 2-3 individuals on a contract basis in the Cambridge area that have at least 3 or more years experience building machines, ideally in the automotive or medical sector.

Ideally you are a licensed Millwright, Machine Builder Tool Integrator, Machinist or Tool & Die Maker.

This role will challenge your critical thinking and really engage your troubleshooting abilities.

Some of the responsibilities include:
– set up of machining equipment
– working from blueprints
– manufacturing component parts
– informing project managers of any stumbling blocks
– integrating hydraulic and pneumatic systems
– working alongside other skilled tradespeople
– maintaining high quality standards
– participating in the debug and integration or start up (some travel may be required, but not for everyone)
– interacting with customers on site if you are doing installations
– helping to prepare the machines for shipment
– training operators on client sites (if you are doing installations) Advantages Why would you want to work here?

– $35-$40 hourly to start
– work for supervisors that are highly skilled tradesmen/women in their own right
– steady, moderate work pace Qualifications What do you need to have?

– conscientious attitude
– be a team player, take feedback and implement it
– able to work in other departments when required (it’s everyone’s job, not one person’s job)
– ideally you are a licensed tradesperson possessing a Millwright, MTBI, Tool & Die, or Machinist license
– able to read and interpret blueprints and think critically about what you are building
– at least 3 years of recent machine building experience
– strong customer service if you are wanting to help with installations
